Itinerary
Our tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 4:00 am, leaving very early to make the most of the excursion.
We will head north of Cusco towards Limatambo, enjoying beautiful Andean landscapes and traditional valleys along the way until reaching the town of Mollepata, where we will have a delicious buffet breakfast.
From Mollepata we will begin our journey towards the Humantay Lagoon. At this point, visitors who wish can choose to rent a horse to facilitate the ascent to the slopes of the lagoon.
The walk lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours at a moderate pace, enjoying the impressive natural environment. If you opt for the horse alternative, the route takes approximately 40 minutes, later carrying out a final walk of about 20 minutes until you reach the destination.
Upon arriving at Humantay Lagoon we can appreciate its beautiful turquoise waters, surrounded by a spectacular landscape with the snow-capped Humantay as the main setting. This place represents one of the highlights of the route to Salkantay trekking.
After enjoying the landscape and taking photographs, we will return along the same path to Mollepata, where we will have a buffet lunch.
Finally, we will begin the return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 pm.
